Writing and Editing

Currently, Urszula is writing a textbook, UX Research Methods for Media and Communication Studies: An Introduction to Contemporary Qualitative Methods (Routledge, 2022), with Dr. Angela Cirucci (Rowan University).

Urszula has worked as a writer and editor in different industries for over ten years, including working as a communications advisor for the Ministry of Education in New Zealand and as a music journalist in Philadelphia (see examples of her work here, here, and here). She has also worked on various freelance projects, including copyediting and proofreading screenplays, websites, and academic journal articles. One personal highlight of Urszula’s writing career was composing the entries on “magic” and “possession” for The Voodoo Encyclopedia: Magic, Ritual, and Religion.

In 2017, Urszula worked as a content researcher, writer, and editor for Women’s Suffrage and The Media, a multimedia database and resource site created by members of the American Journalism Historians Association.

In 2019 and 2020, Urszula worked with Dr. David Mindich, professor and chair of the journalism department at the Klein College of Media and Communication, on researching for, writing parts of, and proofreading his textbook, The Mediated World: A New Approach to Mass Communication and Culture, as well as creating ancillary instructor materials for the book.
