Urszula Pruchniewska is a Senior User Experience Researcher at Benefits Data Trust. She holds a Ph.D. in Media and Communication from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
Urszula is the co-author of the textbook, UX Research Methods for Media and Communication Studies: An Introduction to Contemporary Qualitative Methods (Routledge, 2022). Her research focuses on social media, user experience, and gender. Some topics she has studied and written about include:
- the experiences of women who use secret Facebook groups for support, community, and career advancement
- how women strategically use Bumble the dating app to simultaneously find love and avoid sexual harassment
- how female entrepreneurs use social media to promote themselves
Urszula earned a Master of Journalism from Temple University, a B.Sc. (Hons) in Psychology from Victoria University of Wellington, and a B.A. in Audiovisual Production Management from the University of Johannesburg. She has worked in New Zealand, England, and the U.S. across a range of media and communication industries, including video editing, digital content management, advertising, and strategic communication.
